Sorted Spotlight: Meet our new Support Analyst.

It may be all virtual for now, but our unstoppable team is still growing. Because, despite these uncertain times, our clients need our support more than ever. So, in this special Sorted Spotlight, we spoke to our latest recruit, Jordan, about his first week with our Support team. Jordan was one of our first newbies to virtually join us, helping to keep our people and our customers thriving from home.

HOW DID YOU FIND YOUR FIRST WEEK AT SORTED, IN A VIRTUAL WORLD? 

I really enjoyed it. It was something new for me, so I have a lot to learn - but that’s the exciting part about starting a new job. You have a whole new organisation and structure to learn about and find out how it operates.Then, of course, meeting my team - who I couldn’t be happier with! It was strange doing introductions on Microsoft Teams, but they’ve all been really accommodating with all my video meeting requests and questions on Slack. Everyone I’ve spoken to so far has been so welcoming and that made the virtual onboarding a lot easier. Working from home is a challenge for everyone, especially for me as I enjoy being hands on, or sat with someone when learning. But, so far so good!

 

I was surprised at how pleasant the remote onboarding process was. Everything was planned way ahead – so all my equipment was shipped to me, including some Sorted branded goodies (best water bottle ever!). By day two, I’d already had my role induction, met my new team – as well as a buddy from another team to chat to – and had a brand induction from the marketing team. I even got a shout-out from the big boss, David, on my first virtual all-hands huddle.

 

SO, WHAT WILL YOUR JOB ENTAIL THEN? 

I'm here to help the Sorted support desk tackle client and staff issues. We start every day with a team call which helps me get to grips with the terminology we use, and it helps to know what the rest of my team are working on. Now I’m starting to pick up tickets, understand how to investigate the different types of incidents and speak to people across the business to help with these problems.

I believe all of our values relate to me, to be honest - as they do everyone in the company. But it’s probably got to be brave, starting a new job and taking on this new challenge during a time of uncertainty.

 

WHAT ARE YOUR BEST TIPS FOR ADAPTING TO LOCKDOWN AND WORKING FROM HOME?

Honestly, it’s just one simple thing that works for me – keeping active, both physically and mentally. Everyone is trying to adapt to this temporary lifestyle, but I think some people struggle to keep themselves occupied. So, I’ve started running again and I’m even attempting to learn the drums.

Other than that, I enjoy both playing and watching football. It’s great for the social aspect of my life and keeps me fit. I’m also enjoying the challenge of being a new dad! It’s can be tough at times, but I couldn’t ask for anything better in my life.

 

WHAT'S BEEN YOUR MOST EXCITING LUNCH YOU'VE MADE SO FAR, WHILST WORKING AT HOME? 

It might not sound too exciting, as I’m trying to be as healthy as possible during this whole lockdown scenario. However, a chicken and asparagus lemon stir fry that I made had to be one of the nicest meals I’ve ever cooked!

 

SO, WHAT WAS IT ABOUT SORTED THAT EXCITED YOU AND MADE YOU WANT TO WORK FOR US?

I wanted a challenge in my career, with something new and exciting to dive into. Sorted seemed like the perfect option for me, with a great structure, clear path and exciting opportunities ahead to personally develop and grow.

 

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO IN YOUR FUTURE AT SORTED?

Once we can return to the office, I’m really looking forward to meeting my team – and everyone else – in person. From what I’ve seen, the office itself is incredible, so I can’t wait to get into Albert’s Kitchen. From a work perspective, I can’t wait to see how far I can push myself and see what a difference our Support team can make for our clients.
